Laine is responsible for the management of the company’s research and development and technological needs. As Chief Technology Officer Laine examines the short and long-term needs of the organization, and utilizes his teams to help the organization reach its objectives. Drawing from extensive previous work on enterprise level integration for multiple Fortune 500 companies, to provide guidance for the company’s intellectual property.
Ted is a results oriented business executive that is directly responsible for overseeing operations, sales, corporate development, marketing, pricing, and revenue management. As a proven market maker and growth-oriented leader, Ted creates and delivers a revenue generation strategy that focuses on creating a world class buying experience for our valued customers
Chris joined the CAN Telematics team in early 2010, helping launch sales of the newly developed Trakopolis platform. By focusing attention on a combination of direct and channel sales, Chris builds lasting client relationships and customer loyalty. His knowledge of the products and industry, along with his ability to provide consistent and friendly service to his clients, has helped the company’s exponential growth significantly.
Today, Chris focuses his efforts mainly on bringing the valuable Trakopolis solution to new regions and verticals, working with channel and mobility partners, ensuring they get the best suited solution with the maximum benefit and return on investment.
Gord is an experienced Sales Representative that has been solution selling in Western Canada for the past 7 years. As Territory Manager for Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan, he enjoys helping clients achieve their business goals by providing them with the information and creating tailored solutions for their business.
Justin is a new addition to the CAN Telematics team. His role is to develop relationships with potential customers and help turn them into loyal and satisfied clients. He strives to make the clients’ initial contact with CAN Telematics an experience that is not to be forgotten.
Louis is always looking for new ways to grow CAN Telematics. As the National Channel Manager, he is in charge of developing and maintaining strategic partnerships that are mutually beneficial. Louis is also spearheading the expansion of CAN Telematics into the eastern markets. There is nothing that Louis likes more than closing a deal while making sure the client is completely satisfied – even if it gets him in trouble with the executives occasionally.
Lindsay joined the CAN Telematics team to improve the training and support we provide our customers and tailor to suit each customer’s needs. Lindsay’s focus is to ensure our customers are getting the most value out of Trakopolis by understanding all of its capabilities and are completely satisfied with our service. Through effective training and other education methods, Lindsay will provide continuous product information to our customers as we introduce new features and communicate with them as Trakopolis evolves. With her experience in training and customer service, Lindsay is a great addition to the team and we think our customers will love her as much as we do.
Zhi has over 15 years of experience in full cycle software engineering, specializing in telecommunications and real-time control. She also has over 8 years of experience in application integration, installation, test and support in telecom and utilities. Zhi has a Maters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Chinese Academy of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. As QA Team Lead for CAN Telematics, Zhi leads with testing and ongoing quality control of Trakopolis, develops and establishes quality assurance standards and measures for Trakopolis mobile applications, writes test plans, test cases and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development and deployment to various pre-production and production environments. Zhi also gathers and analyzes data in support of systems requirements definition and provides the highest quality product to customers.
As an embedded software engineer, Fernando is responsible for device programming and peripheral integrations. He designs device specific scripts and applications to perform vehicle track and trace reporting, custom sensor triggering, engine diagnostics, and device/network health status updates. Fernando also designs and implements data transfer and communication to/from third party peripherals such as RFID, Modbus-enabled control systems, man down systems, OBD2/J1939 ECUs, and mobile data terminals (MDTs).
Elmer is educated in Electronics Engineering Technology and is Microsoft Certified in MCP, MCDBA, MCAD and MCSD. He previously worked as an Antivirus Engineer at TrendMicro Inc. As a software developer for CAN Telematics, Elmer’s responsibilities include system and application development using C#, .NET, and T-SQL with database analysis and design.
Terry is a Solution Architect with over 20 years of software development experience. As Solution Architect, he has guided Trakopolis from an on-premise single server architecture to a highly scalable, cloud-based application. He has provided leadership in the development of the new mobile applications, API, and App Store.
As Chief Financial Officer, Richard’s core focus is corporate strategy, financial performance, cash and capital management. Richard implements and manages a well-rounded evolving financial strategy that encompasses operating, investing and financing activities for the company that complement the corporate strategy and vision.
Richard manages all internal and financial functions in conjunctions with direct involvement in raising over 8MM in private equity and completing several debt financing. Richard acts as a corporate secretary and administrates/initiates many functions of corporate governance. Richard has helped design and implement financial software to streamline accounting practices creating efficiencies and increased depth to financial reporting. Has over 9 years’ experience with companies in various life cycle states and has adapted quickly to rapid promotion. A true promoter of corporate culture.
Loren graduated from the University of Calgary in 2010 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies. Currently, she is pursuing her Project Manager Professional Certificate. Loren has been a member of the CAN Telematics team since 2011. Her responsibilities as the Sales and Marketing Administrator include general sales administration, specialist in CRM, coordination of installs, handling customer care phone calls and assisting with marketing.
Sammie holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a Major in Human Resources from the University of Calgary. She started with CAN Telematics in 2011 as an Administrative Assistant and over time was promoted to Accounts Receivable Manager. She works diligently with the Accounting Team and is responsible for the company’s invoicing and collections. Sammie is still the first point of contact for all office related matters at CAN Telematics Inc.
Stefanie received a Bachelor of Management Degree with a Major in Accounting at the University of Lethbridge in 2012 and is a candidate for CPA. She expects to start her designation in 2015. Previously, Stefanie worked for the Finance Department at a Malaysian company called wemotor.com where she lived and worked in Kuala Lumpur for six weeks and was responsible for the budgeting and financial projections. As the Financial Controller for CAN Telematics Inc., Stefanie is responsible for day to day accounting, internal controls and internal financial reporting and analysis.
Meghan holds the role of Office Manager at CAN Telematics. She manages all of the administrative activities in the office and facilitates a well-run environment. Meghan is responsible for arranging travel, job postings, screening and interviews, benefit plans, office maintenance and many other administrative duties. She also assists the CFO with several Corporate Secretary administrative jobs relating to our company shareholders.
Russell became one of the founding members of the CAN Telematics team when he joined Brent and Duncan in January 2007 to handle sales for the newly created company. Early on Russell handled multiple aspects of the company including operations, implementations, QA and sales. As CAN Telematics grew Russell was able to return to sales to focus on growing the CAN Telematics customer base.
Today, Russell is a customer service orientated Territory Manager that showcases the flexibility of our flagship product, Trakopolis, to businesses in a variety of industries. These industries include oil and gas, safety, construction, long haul, forestry, rentals and couriers.
A well-known and respected business executive specializing in emerging technology company creation and growth. Served as a director on numerous corporate boards as both an investor and an independent. Directly invested > $33MM returning $56MM with a VC career IRR of 24%.

Received the coveted Leo Award for integrity and being a passionate advocate of staff and customers alike. Instrumental in guiding development of, testing and implementing a CMM system that was used ATB wide for several years pre SAP implementation.
Transitioned from the Financial Services Industry to entrepreneurship as CFO/Co-founder of I Wantwireless.ca, providing rural and remote internet services to residential and corporate clients. Rapidly grew I WantWireless.ca from negative cash flow too annual sales of over 1MM.

Frank is Co-head of Osler’s Asia Pacific initiative and is the former National Co-Chair of the firm’s Corporate Group. Frank currently practices from the firm’s Calgary office in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He routinely advises companies and other enterprises in the resource, financial services and technology sectors on matters involving acquisitions, dispositions, strategic alliances, governance and corporate finance. Frank has particular expertise advising clients in Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and other parts of the world, including sovereign wealth funds, state-owned enterprises and private companies, on acquisitions and investments in Canada. Frank has previously worked in the firm’s New York and Toronto offices and has served on secondment with investment banks in both those cities (Morgan Stanley and BMO Nesbitt Burns). Frank serves as a director on the boards of a number of public and private entities.
